Thanks to features such as a completely detachable harness and aircell, seamless shoulder straps and special padding around the wings of the back pack, we have reached an unparalleled maximization of comfort, fit, stability and lift.

 

Features

ERGO INFLATOR The standard inflation and deflation control unit on Mares BCs, the ERGO inflator has been designed according to ergonomic guidelines. Intuitive to use and offers maximum grip.

HIGH LIFT This design characteristic means high lift capacity across all sizes compared to traditional bladder construction. Technical divers for instance require significant lift capacity to compensate for the weight of several tanks, lights and accessories. High lift is also ideal for recreational divers who want to dive with no limitations.

TRIM WEIGHT Two pockets in the back of the BC meant for non-ditchable weights which provide a better trim. Each pocket holds 2.5 kg/5.5 lbs, and is secured with a quick release buckle plus velcro.

MRS PLUS Optimal ballast with a mechanical release system. A simple click ensures easy and secure storage of the weight pockets. A single outward pull on the oversized handle releases the weights. Maximum load 6 kg/13 lbs. Velcro interior divides the pocket into multiple sections (M, L, XL).

FOLDABLE BACKPACK Maximizes the blend of comfort, lightness, and size. Thanks to the grip provided by the rubber in contact with the tank, when open it ensures the unparalleled stability and comfort of a long backpack, but when folded it-s 30% shorter than a traditional backpack.
The honeycomb structure makes it 40% lighter than a traditional backpack.

OVERPRESSURE FLAT VALVE In view of the ongoing development of its products, in its search for perfection in optimizing the weight of spaces, Mares has developed its new overpressure valves. New geometries and a new design for an astounding result. Just 22 mm high, 30% less than in the past.

KNIFE GROMMETS Grommets for easily attaching the Mares Force knife collection. The grommets are located in the most convenient area of the BC, so your knife is always accessible when you need it.

QUICK-PAK SYSTEM Innovation in compacting and transporting the BC. With a few quick moves, you can compact your BC to its minimum dimensions (45x30x30cm). Once closed, the BC will be better protected and can be easily stored in a closet or transported in a small travel backpack.

Suspension System

Detachable harness and aircell, seamless shoulder straps and special padding around the wings of the back pack for an unparalleled maximization of comfort, fit, stability and lift.

Thanks to the features of this system we have reached an unprecedented fit and trim.

The concept of this technology is the same as the one used on outdoor backpacks, where the shoulder straps and cummerbund allow a correct distribution of the weight for more comfort.

With the Hybrid and Hybrid SheDives, we have set the course for the future.

The new models were supposed to be more comfortable and size-flexible, durable, but lightweight, and fit for travel.

A real challenge for Mares- development and design team because such contrary requirements were hard to combine in the past.

The -philosopher-s stone- lies in the complete separation of carrying system and buoyancy bag, optimized cuts, and new materials combined with a new kind of lightweight, foldable backpack.

The result is the generation -Hybrid- for her and him! A highly sophisticated hydrostatic balance device with unparalleled fit and trimming.

Owing to the complete separation of the carrying system, the Hybrid is more size-flexible than any other BC: Thanks to the new harness, all requirements can be met by just 3 sizes.

Whether diving in the tropics or beneath the ice, the Hybrid and Hybrid SheDives are adjustable across two sizes.

Talking about the tropics: The ultra-light carrying frame is now foldable! The entire BC can effortlessly be reduced to a pack size of 45 x 30 x 30 cm to make more space for personal travel items.

Ultra flat air dump valves, aluminum D-rings, perforations in the carrying frame, and the use of durable Cordura 420 contribute to aquadynamics and weight reduction.

To have everything compact on the body means minimal water resistance and maximal comfort.

MRS lead pockets and trim pockets, a height-adjustable chest strap, and a knife retainer are not always standard features - but at Mares they are! And we care about your safety. Because with up to 22.5 l buoyancy, the Hybrid plays it safe!
