Description

Computer Scubapro Uwatec Galileo Luna

Everything you need

Galileo LUNA is everything you need for an extrodinary underwater experience. And if you want more, two additional features can be added as optional upgrades later (Heart Rate Monitor and Predictive Multi-Gas).

  • Hoseless gas integration.
  • Navigational system with digital compass.
  • Extra large dot-matrix screen available in 3 display modes.
  • PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops) optimizes your dive in complete security.
  • Clear text, multi-language alarms.
  • Graphic data display.
  • Personalization.
  • Galileo’s memory chip can hold over 100 hours of dive profile data and 100 bitmap images as a wreck map the diver can use to orient himself.

  • User changeable battery & depth rating.

An exclusive UWATEC achievement: the option to update Galileo’s firmware through the infrared interface. You can download upgrade packages over the Internet to get new features and new languages.

LUNA can be upgraded with 2 additional features—available as optional purchases at your Authorized SCUBAPRO UWATEC dealer, these two features can be added quickly via our special site: galileo.uwatec.com.

Hoseless gas integration. Galileo LUNA uses a radio transmitter mounted on the regulator first stage to transmit tank pressure – via an interference-free coded radio link – to the wrist unit. The tank pressure data is used to provide a real remaining bottom time calculation and can be used to asses the effect of physical effort on tissue ongassing.

Navigational system with digital compass. Galileo includes a full-tilt digital compass plus bearing setting and memory feature for fool proof navigation. Its sophisticated technology allows the compass to operate correctly regardless of the position of the diver’s wrist and graphically marks the direction set, guiding you back on course in case you stray.

Extra large dot-matrix screen available in 3 display modes. Allows for different personal preferences and diving styles, Galileo can be quickly and easily set to display data in 3 different screens options.

PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops) optimizes your dive in complete security. The PDIS option calculates an intermediate stop based on how much nitrogen uptake your body has endured, taking into account your current dive, previous dives and breathing mixes. This proposed stop allows you to reduce on gassing and slowly release nitrogen while you continue cruising along and enjoy your dive. PDIS is a unique scientific application from UWATEC, for safer, more optimized diving in both the recreational and technical arena.

Clear text, multi-language alarms. All alerts and alarms are displayed in clear text on the large dotmatrix display. For example, if the diver is ascending too fast, Galileo will display “ASCENT TOO FAST!”
Text alerts are shown in one of the 6 pre-loaded languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch, more will be available through downloads) and supplemented by visual and audible warnings.

User friendly. This multi-language feature is also used for all interface elements, such as menu items. This, coupled with Galileo’s extreme user friendliness, translates to an advanced dive computer that is as easy to use as a cell phone.

Graphic data display. Galileo also offers a bar-graph representation of the tissue loading and of oxygen toxicity levels. The graphic possibilities extend to displaying the dive profile on screen during the dive; if decompression or MB level stops are needed, Galileo will display their depth and duration in the profile.

Personalization. The diver can input his personal information (name, certification numbers) and also emergency contact, medical (such as allergies) and dive insurance information into Galileo; in case of an accident the emergency information is displayed at the touch of a button.

An exclusive UWATEC achievement: the option to update Galileo’s firmware through the infrared interface.
You can download upgrade packages over the Internet to get new features and new languages. The NEW free Apnea package is available on our web site--for Galileo only--and at no cost. SmartTRAK is also used to customize Galileo’s settings and display all dive related information. Galileo’s memory chip can hold over 100 hours of dive profile data and 100 bitmap images as a wreck map the diver can use to orient himself.

User replaceable battery & depth rating: Thanks to its oil-filled electronics compartment, Galileo is rated to a maximum depth of 330 meters (per EN13319 standards), while the battery is contained in an airfilled housing allowing the diver to easily change it if necessary.

LUNA can be upgraded with 2 additional features—available as optional purchases at your Authorized SCUBAPRO UWATEC dealer, these two features can be added quickly via our special site: galileo.uwatec.com.

• Predictive Multi-Gas upgrade: Purchasing this PMG feature at a later time, or whenever you need it, allows LUNA to use up to 3 Nitrox mixes (21-100% O2) during the dive, calculating the ascent schedule for all possible combinations of the programmed mixes. The outcome of the different decompression calculations can be shown on the screen in a dedicated deco summary screen.

• Heart Rate Monitor upgrade: Galileo’s heart rate monitor, jointly developed with Polar (world leader in the field of heart rate monitors), not only measures and records the heartbeat during the dive but allows the dive computer to factor the intensity of the exercise into the decompression calculation, as it is reported by the diver’s physiology. The HRM is also ideal for Apnea divers, measuring heart rate and sounding an alarm if the heart rate drops below the set level.
